Les Mémoires
My fondest memory of Papi is his visit to Louisiana to see us. I am his daughter-in-law. His son Victor
and I reside in Rayville, Louisiana with our daughters Sydney, Nathalya, and Yasmin.
Upon his visit we took him to meet my parents. My father owns several horses and he was so excited to
have and real up close encounter with an acutal horse. He reached out to pet the largest one and called his
friends on his phone back in New York to tell them that he was touching "a real live horse". Then he took a
picture of himself and sent it to his buddy. I have never seen my own Dad laugh so hard.
It was the 4th of July holiday so we had picked up tons of fireworks to set off in our back yard. There are
no zoning rules where we live so you have free reign to do what you please on your property. It was pitch
black so you could see nothing but the stars above your head and the fireworks as they went off. Then
came the noise. And I thought Papi was going to break his neck trying to get away from it. All you could
hear were leaves russling on the ground. To us in Louisiana that was nothing. You hear that all the time.
But to him he thought that was the scariest thing because he couldn't see anything. It was only just an
armodillo. If you have never seen one you should check those out on the internet. They are ugly but we
see them so often here it's become an everyday thing. Papi ran back in the house and got a HUGE spotlight
and was shining it all around. He just couldn't believe we weren't panicking. Of course Victor having his
father's since of humor told him it was a Louisiana Alligator making that noise and just freaked Papi out
even worse. Needless to say our fireworks were cut short that night. We had to wait until daylight for the
rest. I'm sure most of you could imagine him panicking.
The day we had to take him back to the airport was so sad. He got on the plane and called us immediately
giggling and trying to see if we could see him through his window. None of us wanted him to go that day
and I think part of him stayed behind. Our daughter Nathalya has his same sense of humor. Not a day goes
by that she is not going to do something just over the top silly. We will miss him dearly. He was not only a father to Victor, but a mentor, friend, and hero. I can attest
that his computer geniuses have been instilled forever in his son. They are both the two biggest NERDS I
have ever known.
Rest In Peace Papi!
Until We Meet Again,
Becky
Emilio you were one of kind; always so giving and always there if someone needed you. Everyone at work knew that if you were
MIA, they would look for you by Eva’s desk or by mine. I always found that to be so funny. At times, when I would arrive at work I
would see a cup of fruit that you would get from a meeting and leave for Eva and I. But that would come with a pretty price of an
early lunch 11:30 AM verdad, that’s what you would say.
It has been difficult for me to adjust that I will no longer receive your afternoon emails messing with me or your text reminders if
American Idol was on or Eli Stone or to bring something for you. Whenever Efrain heard the text messages coming in; he knew it
was you and he would comment with a smile on how close our friendship was. And I would respond; he is like a brother.
We did share quite a few laughs when we all went out or got together as a group, I will cherish those memories.
But I remember when I first heard you pray, I felt so many goose bumps that I mentioned to you, I have never heard anyone pray
like that and with those kind praying words that you taught me is how I will always remember you! Because you are now resting in
the Kingdom of our Lord!
I've known Emilio for over 10 years. I have so many memories of him, but one memory that stands out is
how much he loved his children and grandchildren. He always spoke about his children, Victor, Chris,
Michelle and Carla. He was very proud of them. And whenever a new grandchild was born he would
email me and Grace with the news and a pic.
Emilio was a kind soul with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. I will miss having lunch with
him every day, sharing nothings and laughing at everything. I will miss our group outings , whether we
gathered at someone's home, or went to dinner and a show, we always had such a great time with him. He
was a true friend, a brother. It's hard to believe he's gone. I miss you so much, Skyrider. Descansa en
Paz!
It was not unusual for me to refer to Emilio as an absolute angel (I'm sure, even now, he blushing in
Heaven ), not only because of his sincere dedication to helping anyone at any time, but because of the
gentle and kind manner he demonstrated in doing so! I will always remember his fun-loving and easy
going way towards brightening anyone's day! This beautiful memorial website for him is a true testimony
to his gracious and kind spirit that will be missed by all who knew him. Trust me! Because of how he
lived, you can believe he will rest in peace!
I will always remember how love changed your life. "Have you ever noticed that when you are in love, you always go around with a smile on your face?
Indeed, love brings immense happiness to the lives of those who are experiencing it."
I remember when you experienced it and how happy you were and that is how I will always remember you
As the saying goes It's better to have loved and lost than to never love at all. I will always remember you
in my prayers.
